Hopping numbers (The quantity mat )

Domain: understanding of numbers, addition and subtraction, multiplication tables
Objective: practicing arithmetic skills by means of combination: thinking (number work) and acting (hoping). Integration of motion development.
Activity: in groups of 2 children – ideal for working in groups, - can be used without help from an adult, - clear differentiation possibilities, - stimulates interaction between children
Contents: 1 plastic mat in a cardboard case ( 120 X 80 cm)


The quantity mat
The children start at number 1 at the edge of the mat and always hop onto the corresponding dice symbol or they hop onto the dice symbol corresponding with the original number +1.
